Matt sets the strategy and oversees the day to day direction of the 50 Lessons business. He joined 50 Lessons after the acquisition of Insight Learning Media, a China-based learning company that he co-founded in 2007. Prior to co-founding Insight Learning, Matt was the President of Sun 3C Media, a Beijing based media company focused on wireless content and business media. Matt spearheaded Sun 3C’s listing on London’s AIM market and was the architect of a number of key acquisitions. Before joining Sun, Matt was the Principal Consultant at ClarkMorgan, Guangzhou, one of Southern China’s leading business training and education companies. In that role, Matt taught more than 1,000 classroom hours and designed hundreds of hours of curricula. Matt speaks frequently about developments in China, Learning, and Media in both China and the US. Matt is a fluent Mandarin speaker.
James joined 50 Lessons in 2005 with responsibility for creating the sales & marketing strategy and executing on all aspects of business development through the direct sales team and distribution partners.
He brings an extensive track record of successful business development to 50 Lessons, built mainly from his experience in the communications and IT consultancy sectors. His previous roles in sales management include Cable and Wireless and IT consulting company marchFIRST. James is now the COO, overseeing the day to day operations of the 50 Lessons business, as well as SVP, Sales.
Tim is currently the SVP, Products and Branding for 50 Lessons. Tim has close to a decade of experience building and managing ELT and Corporate Learning companies, primarily in China. Prior to joining 50 Lessons, Tim was the VP of Content and Business Learning at Sun 3C Media, a Beijing-based media company focused on mobile content and business media, where he spearheaded the company’s efforts in China’s online business education space. Tim was formerly the head of China operations for 50 Lessons and is now responsible for creating new products from the company’s content library.
A graduate of the London School of Economics, James brings to 50 Lessons seventeen years of wide-ranging television and video production experience, including Senior Producer from 1996’2000 at Inflight Productions. James joined 50 Lessons as the third co-founder in January 2003 to head up video production, and has been instrumental in filming the world’s leading business executives sharing their most valuable business experiences and stories. James now heads up the newly-formed 50 Productions, responsible for providing a wider range of custom production services for our global clients, and for the ongoing acquisition of content for the 50 Lessons library.
